After serving in the Navy four years, Alec began a career in healthcare. While promising, he still felt pulled to help and serve people in a different, happier environment (most people aren’t thrilled to visit the OR!). He’s passionate about working with people and making connections with strangers, so pursuing a career where he could still form those bonds was important.
He found this fulfillment in being a barber. From his perspective, there’s much more to being a barber than simply cutting hair. It’s about creating experiences for guests, and building genuine relationships with them. It’s an intimate, happy job for him, and he couldn’t be more pleased with the change from healthcare.
In his free time, he loves getting outdoors and being active with his wife, being silly around the house, traveling and cutting loose on a dance floor every opportunity they get.
Interesting hobbies: film photography (swoon!) and acrylic painting.
Words of advice: Life is short. Do what you like to do, and what you want to do. In the end, fulfillment is more important than any dollar amount!
